EyeSight

Subaru's Latest EyeSight* Technology

EyeSight* uses cameras to enhance road safety by helping maintain safe distances and lane keeping for a smoother and safer drive. Now equipped with a wide-angle monocular camera, safety is further enhanced by significantly expanding the detection range via front radar, particularly for pedestrians and bicycles, ensuring a safer drive.
* EyeSight is a driving support system which may not operate optimally under all driving conditions.
The driver is always responsible for safe and attentive driving and observance of traffic regulations. System effectiveness depends on many factors such as vehicle maintenance, weather, and road conditions. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations for EyeSight.

Lead Vehicle Start Alert

At a stop, the system prompts action with a buzzer and flashing indicator when traffic begins moving.

High Beam Assist (HBA)*¹

Increases visibility and safety when driving at night by toggling the high beams on and off automatically, depending on driving conditions.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Can look ahead and help automatically adjust your speed and distance from the vehicle ahead, a convenience in stop-and-go traffic.

Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control

Seamlessly and more safely adjusting the cruising speed of the vehicle involves comparing the vehicle’s position information with map data, in addition to sign recognition using a stereo camera. Enjoy a stress-free drive with automatic acceleration and deceleration, ensuring a smooth journey.

Lane Centring Control and Preceding Vehicle Adaptive Steering Control

Can reduce driving fatigue with preceding vehicle recognition accuracy that allows cruise control to continue working even around sharp turns.

Lane Departure Prevention*²

Recognises lane markings to keep your vehicle in its lane and prevents unintended road departures by detecting boundaries like grass, aiding steering accordingly.

Emergency Lane Keep Assist

Can help reduce dangerous lane departures when it detects vehicles in an adjacent lane or oncoming vehicles with a warning buzzer and flashing indicator while assisting steering operation.

Autonomous Emergency Steering

Can help avoid a collision with automatic steering support when it detects lane markings to judge if there is enough space to safely avoid a frontal collision.

Pre-Collision Throttle Management

When there is an object in front and you put the gear in Drive instead of Reverse, the system can alert you with a buzzer and flashing indicator and cuts engine power to minimise possible frontal impact force and damage.

Pre-Collision Braking System*³

Supports improved collision avoidance at intersections through expanded recognition range with a wide-angle camera and enhanced control software performance.

Front Pre-Collision Braking System*³

Can help avoid a collision with a buzzer and flashing indicator and braking assistance when the system detects a high possibility of a front collision in areas with poor visibility such as intersections or when leaving a parking spot.
*1 Optional.
*2 Helps prevent unintended road departure, even on roads without lane markings. By recognising boundaries outside the road such as grass, it can assist with steering operation to keep your vehicle in the lane.
*3 Pre-Collision Braking System may not work in all situations. Depending on the speed difference from objects, the object's height, and other conditions, every situation may not meet the necessary conditions for EyeSight to work optimally.
The driver is always responsible for safe and attentive driving and observance of traffic regulations. Please do not depend solely on these safety features for safe driving.
There are limitations to the features of this system. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations. Please ask your retailer for more details.
