Collection of On-Board Fuel Consumption Monitoring (OBFCM) Data
OBFCM stands for "On-Board Fuel Consumption Monitoring". This value is now monitored on all new cars, as required by the European Commission (EC), to calculate your vehicle’s cumulative mileage and the corresponding amount of fuel consumed.
The EC's goal is to obtain an anonymous European average of the real-world fuel consumption of cars and vans — for each car brand and each powertrain type (petrol, diesel, hybrid, etc.) — and also to prevent the growing gap between laboratory test results and real-life fuel consumption.
