Safety

Class-leading Confidence

The Crosstrek’s latest safety systems provide anyone—from newer drivers to the more experienced—with fun and confident driving in any situation. In addition to the new-generation EyeSight*¹, a front side radar system and LED cornering lamps help reduce the risk of accidents with cars, cyclists, and pedestrians at intersections. Plus, a far side SRS*² airbag helps prevent front occupants from colliding in the event of an accident.

Wide-angle Monocular Camera

An additional wide-angle monocular camera works with the dual-camera system for improved detection of pedestrians and bicycles at low speeds.

*¹ EyeSight is a driving support system which may not operate optimally under all driving conditions. The driver is always responsible for safe and attentive driving and observance of traffic regulations. System effectiveness depends on many factors such as vehicle maintenance, weather, and road conditions. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations for EyeSight including functions in this brochure.
*² Effective when used in conjunction with seatbelts.

EyeSight Driver Assist Features

Emergency Lane Keep Assist

Can help reduce dangerous lane departures when it detects vehicles in an adjacent lane or oncoming vehicles* with a warning buzzer and flashing indicator while assisting steering operation.

Road Edge Lane Departure Prevention

Can help keep your vehicle in the lane by recognising lane markings and assisting with steering wheel operation to prevent unintended road departure. Can work even on roads without lane markings by recognising boundaries outside the road such as grass.

Front Pre-Collision Braking*

Can help avoid a collision with a buzzer and flashing indicator and braking assistance when the system detects a high possibility of a front collision in areas with poor visibility such as intersections or when leaving a parking spot.

Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control

Seamlessly and more safely adjusting the cruising speed of the vehicle involves comparing the vehicle’s position information with map data, in addition to sign recognition using a stereo camera. Enjoy a stress-free drive with automatic acceleration and deceleration, ensuring a smooth journey.

* Pre-Collision Braking System may not work in all situations. Depending on the speed difference from objects, the object’s height, and other conditions, every situation may not meet the necessary conditions for EyeSight to work optimally.

Standard Safety Features

Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB)

Four sensors on the rear bumper detect obstructions behind the vehicle when reversing. If detected, the system can alert the driver with warning sounds and automatically apply the brakes to avoid a collision or reduce collision damage.

Hazard Avoidance

Made possible by the Subaru Global Platform, the lower centre of gravity design, enhanced suspension system, and rigidity improvements provide a vehicle that responds immediately when evasive actions are taken, helping avoid hazards on the road.

Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)* Airbags

Front SRS* airbags, front side SRS* airbags, curtain SRS* airbags, a knee SRS* airbag, a seat cushion SRS* airbag, and a far side SRS* airbag come standard to give all passengers a higher level of protection in the event of a collision.

LED Cornering Lamps

The LED cornering lamps help prevent nighttime accidents at intersections. When turning left or right, they provide bright illumination of the area ahead towards the direction of travel, helping detect pedestrians and bicycles early.
